What is sheet metal work?

Sheet metal work is a technique for processing metal plates (called sheets), bars or tubes. Sheet metal parts allow for a reduction in material consumption compared to machining. Conversely, this process imposes a constant thickness restriction, which makes certain shapes impossible to achieve. The use of different metals (steel, aluminium, stainless steel, etc.) and dedicated designs give the sheet metal parts good mechanical characteristics.
